Good to know
The retail version contains a download code, not a disc. Preload starts on November 12, 2026 – the download size is not yet known. Anyone buying before November 20 receives the Vintage Vice City Pack; digital purchases also include one month of GTA+.
What's in the Ultimate Edition? Official
The €20 premium buys no longer story but extras around the campaign: exclusive vehicles and weapon variants, additional outfits for Jason and Lucia, two tuning shops, Ultimate-only stores, a garage and special jobs. The main story is identical in both editions. Ultimate is digital only – retail boxes exist for Standard only.
How pre-orders are going
Rockstar publishes no official figures – but analysts like Sensor Tower track the stores continuously. As of mid-August 2026:
The 89% Ultimate share (Xbox 90%, PlayStation 88.5%) is the real outlier: premium editions usually sit at 10–20%, and even 50% counts as exceptional. Sensor Tower's own caveat: early pre-orders skew toward the most avid fans, and the split is expected to drift toward 50/50 by launch. The PlayStation lead matches the installed base (~94M PS5 vs. ~35–47M Xbox Series).
